In an interview to SanguTV's 'Kharabah Fahu' programme, Male' Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has revealed that the recent reallocation of sites for industial fiber work on Villimale' was done after extensive consultation with and advise from the residents of the ward.
The Mayor noted that the best solution was to move these workshops to a place such as Thilafushi, which is designed exclusively for industry and would not be a health hazard and nuisence for residents. "The next best option before us was to move them to a place that is relatively far away from the residential hub of Villimale', and we consulted the people before making the move", he said.
Noting that the change was temporary, he assured that the City Council had yet to get any negative feedback or complaints from residents, following the move.
