The new fleet of buggies for the commencement of the Villimale' buggy service by the Male' City Council have all been transported to the site. City Council officials have confirmed that the service will begin imminently.
The Mayor of Male', Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced that, with the exception of private hires, the service will initially be free of charge on designated routes. Paid usage will commence from Eid ul Fitr, and the allocated price is MVR 2.
The assigned prices for private hires are as follows:
4-seater buggies - MVR 6
6-seater buggies - MVR 10
12-seater buggies - MVR 15
MCC are also planning on introducing a fee card for monthly usage, for weekdays and weekends.
The buggy fleet also includes designated luggage carriers and one for emergency use for patient transportation to the hospital.
The environment-friendly, battery-operated buggies were designed for the serene roads of Villimale'. The new service will be yet another milestone in the five-year Strategic Action Plan of MCC.
