Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Mayor of Male' City, today launched the Male' City Council's new 'Fannuveriyaa' youth arts and crafts workshop.
At a small ceremony held in Sus Cafe' in Male', Dr. Muizzu launched the new initiative designed to empower young people in equipping themselves with the skills needed to opt for artistic career choices. At the ceremony, it was revealed that the first batch of participants in the programme would total 45, and that their training would be conducted without any charge.
Speaking to the participants, the Mayor noted that the City Council's goal was to provide the youth with more opportunities to earn a living, and to move forward in fields of their chosing.
"We want young people to be successful and proud, with income earning sources that allow them to engage in their passions and to move forward in life with confidence and dignity", he added.
