The Male' City Council has decided to put up LED billboards in strategic locations of the capital Male'.
The project was earmarked under Article 3.8 of the Strategic Action Plan of the Male' City Council. The move was endorsed by the Council at this morning's meeting.
The billboard project is designed to have minimal financial burden on the Council. Members also noted the importance of ensuring minimal disturbance to the public, including the lighting and sound for LED board. It was also decided to seek expertise on this issue to ensure conformity to industry standards.
The Male' City Council hopes to use the new billboards to beam out traffic live updates, road closure notices and other special public awareness information.
