Community Engagement Unit Attended to 516 Cases Last Week

The Community Engagement Unit of Malé City Council attended to 516 cases between 24 May and 30 May.

According to the Council's weekly statistics report, 368 cases were resolved during the week, while 148 cases remain under investigation. The report also stated that fines were issued in seven cases and official warnings were given in three cases.

The largest number of cases involved public safety, with 203 inspections and monitoring activities carried out at mosques, public squares, and parks.

Waste management was the second most common issue, with 309 cases related to littering and the illegal disposal of waste in streets, alleys, vacant lots, and lagoon areas.

The third most reported issue was the unauthorized placement or storage of pallets, boxes, and other materials on streets and pavements, accounting for 34 cases.

The Community Engagement Unit's report covers eight service areas and highlights issues related to waste management, public behaviour, and other activities that affect the cleanliness, safety, and wellbeing of the city.
