Malé City Mayor Adam Azim has expressed concern following a serious accident involving the speedboat “Tour Guard,” which was traveling from K. Villingili to Gili Lankanfushi.
The accident caused significant damage to the vessel and left two people injured. The injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
Commenting on the incident, Mayor Azim described it as a tragic event. He noted with concern that serious accidents often occur when maritime navigation regulations are not fully followed.
“I remind all seafarers to act in a manner that prevents such tragic incidents from recurring,” Mayor Azim said.
He further emphasized that adhering to established maritime safety and security procedures is the most important way to prevent dangerous accidents at sea.
Mayor Azim also extended his sympathies to the injured individuals and wished them a speedy recovery.
