The Male' City Council has established a new environment committee to focus on strengthening environmental protection in implementing the City Council's project and programmes, and to suggest pragmatic measures to make Male' City greener and more environment-friendly.
The decision was taken at today's 53rd sitting of the Male' City Council, chaired by Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The Member of the Male' City Council for Galolhu West, Mariyam Nazima was appointed as the Chair of the new committee, while Saaif Faathih, Member for Galolhu North was chosen as Vice Chair.
Henveiru West Council Member Ahmed Aifaan, Deputy Mayor and Maafannu Central Member Ahmed Narysh and Abdulla Nasir, Member for Maafannu South complete the composition of the new committee.
The committee was also tasked with expediting environment-related milestones in the Strategic Action Plan of the City Council.
