MCC decides to lobby concerned authorities following the unlawful reassignment of the Male' road development project

The Male' City Council today decided to lobby and lodge formal complaints with concerned authorities, following the government's unlawful reassignment of the project to development the roads of the capital city from the Male' City Council to the Planning Ministry. The City Council also decided to file a legal suit against the government.

Members of the City Council also decided to lobby the President's Office, the People's Majlis (Parliament) and the Local Government Authority, at this morning's 59th sitting of the City Council.

The letter to the President's Office is to include details of the case, including the matters of legal concern. Furthemore, the City Council will be requesting for an audience with members of the Decentralisation Standing Committee of Parliament.

A case is also to be lodged with the Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate the assignment of the project to RDC at 84 million, whereas the same scope was previously agreed at 39 million.
