The Mayor of Male', Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed his confidence that the programme to install road name signage in Male' City would be completed successfully. He made the statement in an interaction with the press on ongoing and upcoming programmes of the City Council.
Recalling that road names were installed on walls in years gone by, Dr. Muizzu noted that changes to these buildings had meant that they were removed over time, living very few across the city. He said that the aim of the City Council was the place new ones on all streets in the capital for the convenience of residents and visitors to Male'.
Dr. Mohamed Muizzu went on to note the high cost involved in this venture but stressed its importance. He noted that the City Council had decided on funding the programme through sponsorship opportunities, at their 70th sitting. "We will announce to seek interested parties this week, and hope to receive a favourable response", he added.
The programme, which features in the five-year Stategic Action Plan, was endorsed for implementation at the Council's 41st sitting.
