Male' City Council has divulged detailed information on the completed repair and renovation work on 26 mosques in Male' and Villimale', as part of the 'Beautiful Mosque' initiative in the runup to Ramadan.
Of the 26 mosques, Salahuddin Mosque and Ziyaaraiy Mosque repairs were undertaken entirely by well-wishers, while different work has been undertaken and completed in others. A detailed report on the mosque renovation programme has been shared on this website. Maintenance of Birri Mosque in Villimale' has also been undertaken by a corporate well-wisher.
Speaking at this year's frst public consultation for 2023, the Mayor had revealed that over 8 million Rufiyaa of work had been done on mosques in recent months, and that only 1 million had been allocated in the annual budget. He had thanked the public and the business community for their support and assistance in making the mosque renovation programme a success.
