Male City Council’s Community Engagement Unit Handles 655 Cases in One Week

The Community Engagement Unit of the Male' City Council addressed a total of 655 cases between June 8 and June 14, according to the council’s latest "Weekly Statistics" report.

Out of the total cases, 558 were resolved, while 97 cases were followed up. The report further notes that 17 cases received official advice, and 8 cases resulted in fines.

Waste management emerged as the most reported issue, with 226 cases involving littering on roads, streets, and vacant lands. The second most common issue was public safety, with 200 cases related to inspections of mosques, public squares, and parks. Public welfare came third, with 54 cases concerning road pavement, canal maintenance, and road trees or tar.

The report outlines a broad range of issues tackled by the unit, including:

- Waste management

- Violations of general social standards

- Illegal activities

- Breaches of business practices

- Public complaints and grievances

- Public health and safety

- Traffic and parking violations

- Environmental and natural concerns
