City Council has cleaned more than 4,505 drains along 11 streets in the first five months of this year, as part of an ongoing effort to improve drainage and cleanliness across Villimale.
Mayor Adam Azim, in a recent statement, emphasized the city’s commitment to maintaining clean drains and safe streets. He highlighted that the drain cleaning initiative is just one part of a broader citywide campaign to enhance public infrastructure and hygiene.
“City Council is working tirelessly to clean up the drains in Villimale. But we cannot do this alone — the full cooperation of the public is essential,” said Mayor Azim. He urged residents not to dispose of garbage in the drains, which often leads to blockages and environmental damage.
Looking ahead, Mayor Azim assured the public that all street drains across the city will be cleaned before the end of the year. He added that City Council workers are continuing to make steady progress in improving road safety and accessibility for both pedestrians and vehicles.
“Our goal is clear — to make the streets of Male City clean, beautiful, and safe for everyone,” Mayor stated.
The city’s ongoing efforts are part of a broader urban improvement campaign aimed at building a more livable and sustainable urban environment.
