The Member of the People's Majlis for the Villimale' Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Usham has lauded the Male' City Council for their tireless efforts to improve the lives and livelihoods of his constituents.
MP Usham's praise came as part of his remarks at Wednesday's Male' City Council 2nd Meeting with Residents of Villlimale'.
Hon. Usham thanked Mayor Muizzu, Council Member for Villimale' Nahula Ali and the MCC Secretariat for the prompt decision to reconsider the location for the temporary public market in Villimale', in response to requests by residents.
Emphasising the need for financial resources to implement important programmes and projects across Male' City, MP Ahmed Usham noted that allocations for socioeconomic development in the annual budget was not sufficient to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
He said that the MCC's efforts to implement programmes through innovative funding models was indeed praiseworthy.
"The City Council are rolling out programmes as much as their resources permit, and I for one sincerely appreciate and thank them for their efforts", he said.
In his remarks, MP Usham expressed deep skepticism that the current government is sincere in their efforts to bring about meaningful development in and progress to Villimale'.
